I was -26- when I went to a Chiro for the first time, and I regret not going when i first developed aches and pains. It helps THAT much!

By: lexyw1988. on 18 Aug 10, 09:02:08 a very common problem with lower back pain is the pelvis or the hip being out of alinement. this can be fixed in one session with a chiropractor, it will hurt the next day though! if untreated however, the pain will slowly move up ur back as ur spine tries to constantly adjust for the problem. it is not a problem that can be fixed by exercise and strengthening muscles, it has to be manipulated back into place.

If you have real back problems, like a ruptured disc or have had back surgery recently like me (i had a micro-discectemy on L4-L5), it might not be a good idea to twist your spine like he does, he does it a little violently (for a person with disc problems). The last exercise he does is better if you don't rotate your hips and simply do an extension by placing your hands on your hips and SLOWLY lean your upper body back, you'll feel your lower spine flex.

Herniated discs are such that's it important to clear this exercise routine with your doc, I do have to say. I would omit the rear leg extensions on the bench and the "weighted" extension rotations. Pain free range of motion should be a good range to workout. Also, I would avoid deep squats and end range of motions on the lying back rotations. Shorten the range of motion. Hope this is helpful.

I had back pain for three months after sitting on a dumb couch all the time which gave no support to my lower back what so ever. been trying everything to get rid of it. and then I few days ago I was doing a yoga video here on YouTube. the Yogi said one of the problems is today we don't sit and sleep on the floor, always sitting on bad chairs and bad bed. so I tried it. I slept and sat only on the floor for a few days and the pain is gone!

Steroid injections merely calm the nerve down and heal it. They do not fix the problem, which is a herniated disc iritating the nerve. Surgery will remove very small portion of the disc that is rubbing against the nerve, hence fixing the cause of your pain. Don't be afraid, look forward to your pain being gone within 3 weeks after surgery.

I had a herniated disc at L4/L5, and a bulging disc at L5. I fixed the bulging disc by hanging upside down, and had surgery (laminotomy-microdiskectomy) on L4 to repair the herniation. A herniated disc is when the nucleus gets out. It pinches the nerves and hurts like you cannot imagine.

The one problem is that those things, or just hanging upside down, is really hard on the blood pressure... it makes it go up. You might remember as a kid feeling like your head was going to pop when hanging upside down. My own injury is calming down after two months so I'm feeling better. But I experienced enough to understand the need for some type of treatment and I'd bet that stretching the spine out by hanging upside down would feel better.

@marylove2006 I thought the same thing when I was 24. 27, now, and it hasn't gone away-- Get used to it! :) Thankfully with the occasional chiropractic adjustment, once every six months or so, you can walk taller, have perfect posture and minimize discomfort for your average back-pain issues. I was -26- when I went to a Chiro for the first time, and I regret not going when i first developed aches and pains. It helps THAT much!

It results in me lurching forward when I'm standing, and bending over a desk at school. She told me to fix my posture or you can kiss goodbye to sport.

One position we often use while sitting in a chair is crossing our legs. For Sciatica and Lower Back Pain this is a huge problem. The added pressure on the Sciatic nerve and the twisted position of our hip in this position adds to the problem and pain.
